Relax dude! 'Leisure Suit Larry' was just a game, not life's ambition.

You forgot to give yourself the appropriate troll face for such "humble" statements.

The only thing you are upset about is someone trying to do good. You probably havn't posted anything about people playing video games, but you are quick to silence anyone doing good. You will probably respond with some sort of ironic statement. This is the decaying culture that exists today. It is uncool to do good.

And the loaded, self righteous comment of the year award goes to... jstrodel, for "Why you gotta silence my greatness?"!

Your prize is that you get to watch literally everyone else on this board have more self awareness and modesty than you for the rest of your time here. Congratulations.

Right, right. When someone points out that for a self-proclaimed humble person you sure do spend a lot of time declaring how righteous you are, attack their character. Is that more of your humbleness in action?

You have to learn to be good to yourself as well. If being good to yourself get's in the way of being good to others, then that's a problem. But there is nothing inherently wrong with being good to yourself.

That is true, MysticKnight. Do video games make you feel good? They make me feel guilty, like I have wasted my time.

It use to when I thought desire of the life of this world and it's adornments was evil (back when I was Muslim). I think there is a verse in the Bible that those of God don't love the world or the things in this world? Perhaps this is an alternate reason why you feel guilty?

Entertainment is healthy in my honest opinion. Just don't let it consume too much of your time.

I think it's important to be balanced in life.

Video games generally are a waste of time. Lots of things are, like watching TV, listening to the radio, hanging out on the front steps, and so on. They are activities that are designed to help pass the time, which we could have done something else with. They're enjoyable, which can lead us to spend even more time on them than we planned. Sometimes we can learn from them, just like we can learn something by watching educational TV or listening to the news on the radio. People seem to have a need to unwind after the stresses of a normal day, and so we devise entertainment.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Are you derailing yet another thread, Joe?! Dodgy

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
