I like that statement, but I think it goes a little deeper.

The American people are easily manipulated by the media and the people who control the media benefit from keeping things how they are. It results in a lot of people thinking Paris Hilton's tax break is more important than their social security. It results in people voting against their own economic self interest with what should be minor issues like same sex marriage, abortion or prayer in school.

I can't help but think, if we ever bothered to reform our media, that would fix a lot of the problems we have in Washington.

Because of the Constitution, Congress can actually install a state religion given 2/3rds vote and I believe state ratification.

And then it would have to pass senate. Won't happen. At least the senate can get off its ass to do shit, but the congress? Shit's like herding cats.
