RE: Music - another thing I've missed...

Beauty and the Beast, "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, "If We Hold On Together" from The Land Before Time, more Disney randomness...oh yes. Beauty and the Beast sounded better if an acquaintance of mine at school were playing her violin with it, but "My Heart Will Go On" was quite lovely as a piano arrangement without Celine's voice lifting it off.

This makes me feel so sad
One of my earliest, best memories was going over to a babysitter's house. She was a music student at the local university and had no furniture, but did have a baby grand piano. I remember laying underneath it while she played and just being surrounded by the music. I could feel it throughout my entire body… It was amazing and soothing and beautiful.
I'd be entirely lost without music.
Music is so subjective as to what people like or dislike. Chopin is, hands down, my favorite in the classical department. I love David Bowie, Ramones, John Lennon, Tom Waits, Neil Young, the Feelies, Nirvana, Beatles, the Stones, Tom Petty, Tori Amos, Buzzcocks… and that's just a short list of what I could put on and listen to anytime… There's tons more, both that I could listen to whenever, and others that are best enjoyed depending on my mood.

hehe. My favorite band is AC/DC, but me most days I'm listening to the Rat Pack or people covering their songs. Music is amazing, Mystic. Music's how I get through 6 hour drives to see my family, bouncing around in the seat to Flogging Molly, or crooning along in the dark to Bonnie Raitt or Peggy Lee. When I exercise, I like to listen to things like Joan Jett's "Do You Wanna Touch Me" or Joss Stone's "Put Your Hands On Me" or Silvertide's "Devil's Daughter" because they make me feel sexy. When I'm working on something that requires a lot of physical effort, I like listening to Metallica, or Puscifer. I have two alarms in the morning to let me know where I should be in my routine, and they're both Jason Mraz "I Won't Give Up" and "I'm Yours." My girlfriend wakes up to the "Concerning Hobbits" portion of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.
Confession: I totally listen to Glee music too.

Well, music is entirely subjective, so if you list some songs that you like, that would really help in suggesting something. But since Chad mentioned Portishead, I'll post this for a start.

Well, I eat, sleep with and sweat the blues, so I guess I can throw out a couple of suggestions.

mmmmmmmm, Zeppelin. That's for rides in an open Jeep in the summer, blasting it as loud as you can.

That's the one that always gets called to mind when I hear it.
Since I mentioned Cin, I have to pass on a song that always makes me cry when I listen to it. He posted it a long time ago.

That was a touching song.

Might be that nothing on my list is to your taste, but it's a start at least
Thanks. I liked Imogen Heap...Frou Frou couldn't understand some of the words.
I also liked "The Offspring"
I think I don't like music without words, movie context, or game context or show context...but maybe I need to acquire that taste.

Thanks everyone.
