Why would there even be such a line (or either side individually) as hospitable/inhospitable. It's magic all the way down, after all. I fail to see why I can't just walk off the surface on this rock and proceed directly to the center of the sun - just to check out the G-mans handiwork.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

What happens when god is the gap?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Thoughts?
Oh yes, because that has worked so well in the past. Let's see how this position worked against a few prior knowledge gaps:
1. Rain -- some rain god pissing/crying/whatever
2. Lightning -- some lightning god mad/warring/whatever
3. Disease -- some demon/god mad/teaching a lesson/whatever
4. Motion of bodies -- some god carrying the body through space
5. Motion of celestial bodies - some god in a chariot taking care of biznas
6. Tides -- some ocean god dude stirring up trouble
Hmmmm, so far in every settled issue, looks like God-dudes are batting zero. But I suppose there is always hope for god-lovers in the "time before" the big bang (whatever that means) or abiogenesis. By my reckoning, that's about all that's left for a god to do.
The unemployment rate in the god economy is hitting an all time high I'm afraid. I wouldn't advise any young folk of getting into the deity business. Too risky.
And now the news for gods -- No gods were involved in an accident on the M1 today....

Why would you have an opinion like that other than you wish it were true?
Do you have any physical evidence in support of it?
Why would anyone be so desperate as to hang on to the idea after nearly two centuries of both disappearing and shrinking gaps?
Why would anyone want to insert a god into something hypothesized by science such as the big bang? Science should not have to create gaps for gods to inhabit.

I said 'COULD' be a 'god-LIKE' entity. I was just curious to know whether people accepted the *possibility*. It would not have to be the Christian god, or any other 'known' god for that matter, or even anything that we would immediately consider a deity in the traditional sense (e.g. one that would demand worship).

You have to lay out your goalposts first, dude. What is "god-like"? Define that first.

In that case nothing would change and why should we care if a god is hiding in the gaps or not?
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

A gap filler like a caulking compound. It keeps reality from leaking.

What possibility? Based upon what metrics? You mean you would actually call an unknown unknown a "god"? No dice. If you want gods, stick to what they are, making the concept as nebulous as possible doesn't help your case - in any case. Why even insert a "god" into that gap as opposed to a left sock, a waffle, or two southeast asian sex workers? What gap? Why insert anything? Is there anywhere to insert it.
Be more specific. Lest you run the risk of using a great many words where -no words- would have sufficed, as you will have said nothing at all.

Why is it hiding? What is it ashamed of?
