Religious Nuts

Religious nuts? I know them well. I once was one. Lest we forget who we're dealing with, let me lay it out for you.
Characteristics of a Religious Nut
1. Hostility to reason and critical thinking concepts.
2. Hostility to any reality or evidence that might call their religious beliefs into question. Completely dogmatic.
3. Hostility to any science that might call their beliefs into question.
4. Hostility to any history that might call their beliefs into question.
5. Hostility to any knowledge or education that might call their beliefs in question or erode their power over others.
6. Eager to employ lies, tricks, misinformation and other forms of sophistry in their quest to make their dogma sound plausible. Bearing false witness is overlooked as an ethical issue by these individuals.
7. Intolerance of others who do not hold to their beliefs, values or way of life.
8. Complete disregard for human rights, except for themselves.
9. Eager to use legislative repression as a means to ensure dominance, control and the forced submission of others.
10. Complete intransigence and arrogance in their dogmatic approaches.
The attack upon reality, science, history, sex, education and reason consists of 100% lies, misrepresentation, demagoguery and other tactics of sophistry, nothing else. These folks need a label and I think "religious nut" fits them perfectly.
These 10 characteristics of religious nuts are universal and can be easily verified by any person who cares to objectively investigate.

not all relegious people are that bad though, i think religeous people are a vital part of other societies (not my own) as long as they are not too extreme, and the majority of cristians, muslims and jews are just regular people who go about their lives and practice religeon also and they usually dont bother anyone, they dont force me to believe in their religeon or care if i do or not, and it gives a false sense of purpose to their rather pointless lives.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I have always believed that to be the main purpose for religion. That and a false sense of security during times of need.
I do agree, though, that not all religious individuals are bad. Some of them certainly are nice folk. However, I have had my fair share of experiences with religious nuts as described above. Makes you wish you had a shotgun

I agree, all religious individuals aren't bad, of course. I am against religion, but not necessarily against religious people. That depends, as with everyone else.

Just regular people that don't bother anyone? Check out the attached photo. I rest my case.

Lol @that photo ^_^
But the sobering truth is that those people actually believe that... and try to do their best to "save" people from Satan...

Web site
Quote:Joining the ignominious ranks of Pastor Steven Anderson and Pastor Wiley Drake, infamous white supremacist, anti-Semite, and anti-gay Pastor Pete Peters is praying for President Obama's death.
A third, and perhaps even more menacing anti-Obama “death prayer pastor” is Peter Peters of the LaPorte, Colorado Church of Christ
Their preachers are fucking nuts, though.

nice photo, those people are the extreme ones. they are very entertaining to watch, but ill bet there is at least one person who goes to that church who is not an extremist, who does believe in christianity and just goes about their life and doesent bother anyone. that church is most definitly in a small town, so its not like they have much infleuence either.
everyone has seemed to have forgotten when obama said "people in small towns are bitter, and therefore cling to guns and religeon" this is somewhat true, but offends people also so it cannot be addressed by obama other than to say "im sorry, i fired THAT speechwriter" as many times as he could.
religeon is a novelty to me, and its followers provide much entertainment; i recognise that it can and has (long ago) grown out of control, but in this modern times full of people who are already rude, not many will be using the church as an excuse to be rude anymore, they will just be rude.
