Locked in the dogma

And YOU have the temerity to opine that atheists are headed in the wrong direction?

Angel Cloud Oh My DNA!

It is just the opposite.
A human being has got 3 characteristics.
One is the body, one the mind and one the spirit.
Since when an atheist is developing the spirit which is the most important part of every human being?

Life is like trying to go in a cart pulled by 3 horses.
The first horse represent the body, the second the mind and the third the spirit.
If we do not FEED all three horses then the cart can not go straight along the road that will lead to progress.

They are so attached to this material-physical world that they do not want even to consider that there is a better way to live and prosper.

That can work both ways. How do I know that you did not invent the idea of 'seeking answers beyond the material' as a way of comforting yourself when faced with the possibility that the material universe did not answer your questions in the manner that you had hoped?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

As a practical person i do not believe anyone unless it can be established that a particular thing is working.
Spirituality is not easy and in the beginning is rather very hard to follow but as everything else after some time you see the proper result.
If you want to get a degree you got to study and suffer for long time but sooner or later you will see the result.
So is not a question to seek a comfort but a way to achieve something real that stay with you.

Agree with Tonus enrico. Your adherence to dogma can also be viewed as atrophy. The inability to fly and experience the material world with confidence in your own capabilities. You seem to rather naive in your thinking ....you ARE material, the fact that your mind is capable of convincing you otherwise will only lead you further and further into your cage where you will wither and die and become nothing, having been nothing and striving for nothing.

He who does not risk.... dies. Because life is about risk, and your comments seem to infer that you are hell bent on avoiding it. So it seems to me

Very strange comment.
How can i avoid the real world when i work 5 days a week , i look after my wife and kids making sure nothing is missing, i grow things in the garden, i go around to see friends, i go to meetings and all the rest.
What risk i suppose to take?
Maybe you want me to airdrop?

Then you have just negated your claim of living an aesthetic life striving for the supernatural. So again what is your argument?

You have family, friends, a (presumably) good job, you go to church and live what you call a good life; so what is your problem?

That atheists can do the same and not be caught up in 2000 year old dogma made up by a bunch of "cocks in frocks"? Because we are curious about everything and you are content in your cage, atheists are somehow evil? Or is it freedom we enjoy that you don't?

You are reading my comments but you do not seem to take any notes of what i write.
When i say that the life is like going on a cart pulled by three horses i mean that i FEED all three horses so the cart can go straight.
That again means that i look after all three horses which again mean that i care and do something about all the three not just about one or two.
In other words i do not live like an aesthetic masturbating my brains with dreams but i live a real normal life making sure i do not neglect anything.

I do not go to church as i do not believe in religions.
God is within not outside that is why there is no need to go to church.
And beside why should i have a problem?

It is good to be curious about everything, that is why i said that an atheist sooner or later will come to the conclusion that God exist.

Wrong
Because atheists are curious about everything we have come to the conclusion that your god doesn't exist. He is just a figment of your imagination like your three horses. Unless of course you have three horses....

When it is said "god is within you" it means he is all in your mind. This has been tested by neurologists and is an ongoing field of inquiry. But so far there is no evidence of any deity at all except the delusions of those to frightened to grow up and rely on themselves without a deity to blame.

When I spend time with people I love and who love me in return;

when I lose myself in the emotional moment of a hauntingly captivating piece of music;

when I admire the beauty and the artistry of a painting or sculpture;

when I become absorbed in the world enshrined within the pages of a favourite novel;

when I look up at the night sky and allow my imagination free rein to explore the infinite expanse of the cosmos;

when I view amazing images of the natural world from the tiniest atomic structures to the Hubble Deep Field;

when I am enchanted by the innocent laughter of chidren at play -

- that is when I, an atheist, am developing that which you are happy to refer to as the spirit, and I resent the implication that I, an atheist, am somehow lacking in this 'important' human factor.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

RE: Locked in the dogma

What I find sad is how people invent "alternative dimensions" and "spiritual realities" because their imaginations are too feeble to see that everything that we are will fit comfortably inside the dimensions we already have.
