You're joking... we argue about it all the time. Rayaan was arguing me this week about the differences between Allah and God. Muslims hold that they are the same, Christians disagree. Non trinitarian christians, such as Mormons, Jehovah's witnesses etc vehemently disagree. I've had discussions with many. Hindus never, I don't know why, as I know a few. The root idea I'd the same for all faiths IMO, it's just the fine points which separate gods. And enlightenment without gods still touches upon the same subject matter: purpose.

Is there any God that a theist rejects?
|
The god of this world ( earth + the first heaven ) is Satan and his followers are everyone, atheists included, who do not follow after Jesus Christ. It is not possible for us men to reject God the creator and ruler of the universe, that would be like trying to remove the world from a grain of sand, the folly of it is some men do try !

Sounds to me like you accept that Christianity is polytheistic.
What he needs to accept is that xtianity is bullshit.
...WTF was that?...anyway...@Frodo, I haven't seen these discussions, but am interested to see how they play out. It does seem odd that certain followers of some religions tend to shy away from this sort of discourse. It also apears as though you don't really bother with those that believe in a God, so long as they believe in A GOD. Is this an unfair assessment? Are you not bothered by that which is conflicting to your belief (those that believe in a different God), or does your issue, if you ever have one, stem from those that reject the way you are lead to your belief (those that do not believe in ANY God)? To either answer, I would request clarification.

To me, deists are atheists mostly, although some I like the opinion of. I guess it's down to the person and what they say. Some atheists I like the opinion of and some wind me up. There's a whole spectrum. Same with theists. I had a thing with catfish for a while but I've said my piece/put him down enough to my satisfaction, and he's a strange ally now as theist and a non trinitarian Christian. I guess it depends how a person takes their theism/non theism. I do care and understand why I believe what I believe, and I want to investigate that and push its limits. Still I appreciate every other angle on the subject, and think there's much to be learnt by peering outside of your own little box.

Man, please, would you stop telling me/us what we do and don't believe? The only folly is taking your own egotism prima facie as enlightenment. You believe in a god? Fine, whatever, none of us care unless you try and ram it down our throat, like you're doing by attempting to encompass us all in your little fairy tale through utilising an inclusivist rhetoric that labels us all as more or less evil by your own standards and nothing else. No dice man. You're not a very good standard bearer of your faith. Love atheistforums.org? Consider becoming a patreon and helping towards our server costs.

I do find it funny when you can get a theist to point to the absurdity of another faith's claims but cant see their own absurd claims. It is like watching a Star Trek fan pointing at a Star Wars fan.
Star Trek OWNS Star Wars. (Except 'Enterprise' ..that just sucks, period. The new movie is good though)

The point this fellow is making is the one typical of religion, and why so many believe in god; due to fear. He goes on about satan, believing we'll go to hell. This is why half of the world believe in god, because they don't want to go to hell. But as cato123 said it sounds like you're into polytheism, because I believe somewhere in corinithians, they mention satan as a god of his time; therefore you must believe it multiple gods, whether you believe satan to be one or not. Aside from this, you, my friend are an atheist of sorts. YOU reject other gods, the gods of islam for example, because you believe your god to be the only; so by not believing in allah, you are an atheist. As you may have heard many times: "We are all atheists, you just believe in one more god than I do."
