I liked your deconversion story but I don't know how you can speak about your deconversion to your family.

RE: Talking to your family about being an Atheist
I became an atheist when I was 13. I was raised in a very conservative environment in the South of Kuwait (why does the south sucks everywhere?!!!) and had a very religious brother and uncle who adhere to Salafism. When I was a kid, I have been to religious camps where they teach you stuff about religion, and it's a nice social bonding experience. At around 13, I started digging deeper in the hundreds of Islamic books we have in one library and I couldn't accept the level of fallacies in there. At any rate, I seldom discuss these issues with my family. They know I am quite liberal and secular, maybe even an atheist, but what matters is that this never affected my relationship and it is still strong to this day. I have very good relations with my Salafi brother as well even though he is very aware of my thoughts, but I guess family bonds really triumphs everything else.

For me personally, I haven't discussed my atheism with very much of my family. I think my sister knows, my nephew who is also an atheist knows, but for the most part I'm not open about it. I'm not super close to my siblings but it's just not something I want to bring up. I'm not going to tell my mom, either. She hasn't been in good health lately and I don't want it to affect her. I know it would because she'd be worried that I'm going to Hell. It's too bad that people's belief in Hell makes them worry about me going there to the point where I can't be open with what I believe.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
