It's a good thing that they haven't asked me if I'd like to have T over in the living room, because I'd probably drink you.

I like trickster fairies better. Who wouldn't fuck with people if they were tiny and had magic?

I grew up with Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl-series, so I don't think fairies are bad, I think they are badass!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I stopped reading after The Lost Colony... did he ever make another?

There are seven, but the sixth and seventh weren't good in my opinion. I prefer the first three ones.

I thought that the Opal Deception was a reasonable 'end' to the series. Ah well, now I have to go and read the 6th and 7th. The Lost Colony was fascinating from a lore-perspective.
And really, the first two were fantastic, and the third and fourth both solid. The minibook that includes Holly Short's induction into the LEP was pretty damn good as well.

Of the "Fair Folk"
“Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvellous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.
No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridget_Cleary
Quote:Bridget Cleary (Irish: Bríd Ní Chléirigh) was an Irish woman killed by her husband in 1895. Her death is notable for several peculiarities: the stated motive for the crime was her husband's belief that she had been abducted by fairies with a changeling left in her place; he claimed to have slain only the changeling. The gruesome nature of the case—Cleary was immolated, either causing or immediately following her death—prompted extensive press coverage, at a time when her country's prospects for self-government were being hotly contested, and in a period in which folklore (such as fairies) had become a focus of Irish nationalists such as WB Yeats.
