God determines the punishment according to His judgement, I do not believe God ever claimed to have a democratic government, such a government comes from man because of man's flawed sense of justice, so the more that are actually involved in the government the fairer laws will be. God being perfect does not need anyone to tell Him how to govern, Satan did not like it and you see where that got Him and us. Satan like nonbelievers thought/think they can do better to meet their selfish desires. So duh, we now have hell as part of life.

My point is that yes, I would object to a government determining punishment for crimes, if that government conducted itself like your god does. Your initial response tried to make me sound absurd by equivocating that I'd object to a normal, democratic government determining punishments for normal crimes. That's a flawed analogy.

The storeowner does what the boss wants, and the crime boss saves the storeowner from his own punishment. There's absolutely no difference between a mafia protection racket and Christian salvation.

If that is your best understanding of the scriptures why do you even try. Did the crime boss create this store owner, did he start the business, no, so rightfully he has no say other than he takes it, much like Satan.

So, in other words, what makes mafia extortion wrong is not the violence and coercion and malice of the act, but rather that the mafia boss didn't create the shopowner? If the mafia boss did create the shopowner and/or his shop, he would then possess the moral authority to injure, kill, or steal from the shopowner?

Quote:apopheni...................you were asked direct questions which you either didn't answer or answered incorrectly..............

Actually i did answer your question in which you asked me how was not possible for a robot to build up consciousness.
I replied telling you that to build up a consciousness it takes million of years from mineral life to vegetable life to animal life to human life so you just could not get an artificial machine like a robot to get a consciousness.
In human being unlike in lower form of life is possible to build up a lot of consciousness because the positive and negative create a free will and with this free will is possible to do the right choice and progress.
A robot which is program to do only the right thing can not choose between the two and therefore can not develop any consciousness which by the way did not have in the first place.
I also told you that in the near future it will be possible to create babies in laboratories with consciousness provide that science work hand in hand with spirituality.
So what?
You do not agree? Is not the answer that you thought?
That is your problem not mine.
It just show that you want to have the last word.
No problem for me. You can keep on dreaming as long as you want.

Fear of eternal torture is one cult's greatest ally

Why can't you see it as God trying to protect you from the punishment that will come.

Because I see it as a story. By the same token, I don't see people using the Force to levitate. Do you?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The boss can't do that, so it's of no consequence to this discussion, God is creator and He does have the right to judge all, the creation was made to reflect His righteousness. When Satan rebelled and then tempted Adam and Eve into his mistake the creation could no longer reflect God's righteousness.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
