I try not to be mean with others, because I wouldn't want to be treated as such. If anyone else decides to follow the same idea, good for them, but it's nothing that I expect of everyone.

And as for bullying happens only to 'geeky' people, well, you're an idiot. I have been bullied at work a handful of times, usually because of me being younger. How geeky isn't that?! (Fortunately bullies are usually very insecure people, who when faced with resistance, back down pretty easily )

Wrong again. Sexual orientation isn't a geeky interest, and people get bullied over that.

nobody truly thinks bullying is wrong or "immoral". it's merely something people say and not mean.

If people get bullied, so what? life is tough and people are/can be unkind.

Also, I disagree with your assessment of bullying. I think humans to some extent like to dominate others, though this is a function of personality to a large part.

Our compassionate morals may be overtuned in 50 years or so. who knows? as morality is transient, who cares if it is? Most on this forum will be elderly if/when that occurs, so we wouldn't have times to experience any "horrors" lol..

Because we're social animals that require each other and our broader society in order to live the comfortable lives that many of us do. In an effort to maintain this society- in the past this would be a way to avoid getting fucked up by any number of environmental factors, but today is mainly about keeping up our level of comfort and convenience- we agree not to operate in ways that harm one another. It's a social contract we all opt into, in order to keep things running to our advantage.

Do you like the society that keeps you sufficiently alive and vested with wealth enough to spend your time on an atheist forum through a space age magic box that only a few decades ago would have been science fiction? Me too! So you see, we're both invested in replicating behaviors that allow that structure to keep ticking over.
