I don't want raw milk. I don't want my kids drinking raw milk. But I don't think it should be illegal, perhaps not available at the local supermarket, but from a local farm or farmers market, sure.

It should be illegal for them to give it to kids - because some people will go out of their way to buy it and then serve it to their children.
There's nothing wrong with pasteurized milk.

For now my dear TGAC, for now. As I understand it a virus is quite capable of reemmerging ....it takes just a significant number of un-vaccinated individulas... same with polio etc.
The point being is that Coxpox gave the vaccination to small pox. This is all well and good but Tuberculosis?
wiki Wrote:The M. tuberculosis complex (MTBC) includes four other TB-causing mycobacteria: M. bovis, M. africanum, M. canetti, and M. microti.[24] M. africanum is not widespread, but it is a significant cause of tuberculosis in parts of Africa.[25][26] M. bovis was once a common cause of tuberculosis, but the introduction of pasteurized milk has largely eliminated this as a public health problem in developed countries.[1][27] M. canetti is rare and seems to be limited to the Horn of Africa, although a few cases have been seen in African emigrants.[28][29] M. microti is also rare and is mostly seen in immunodeficient people, although the prevalence of this pathogen has possibly been significantly underestimated.[30]

92/46/EWG by the parlaiment from the 16. June 1992.
The sale of unpasteurized milkproducts is forbidden, excemptions are given for rawmilk cheese - jet the product has to be labeled to be potentialy dangerous for children and preagnant women.
I wasnt even aware that it was illegal to sell unpasteurized products in the EU.

That's where you'll often find it. That and buyers clubs. Usually clearly labeled "not for human consumption". That protects the producer (lulz). I wonder if there's a legal term for a parent who feeds their child catfood....

I kinda agree with you... Kids should be protected from their parent's stupidity... But I'm not a fan of over-regulating parenting either... I'm on the fence I guess

There ya go mate.... can get rather deadly and I think this is why many are advocating that those who wish to risk their lives can do so as a form of euthanasia BUT the authorities will have no part in mass suicide?

This isnt about an individuals right to play with danger anymore once we are talking about illnesses which spread easily and are lethal.
Milk is produced en mass and distributed en mass, so when contaminated with germs, it has the potential to even cause a pandemic.
So I understand laws which forbid the sale of such products.

And then to claim it would be "necessary" for our health is really a marvelous feat of brain-washing. We have as much need for cows milk as we have for mouse milk or camel milk or cats milk.
