New!
Hello everyone, I go by Kay I'm new as if that weren't obvious. I consider my self an agnostic atheist. I was a Christian most of my life, then a Wiccan,Then a taoist then some weird new age stuff...all until I arrived here in my current state of mind and it just makes so much more sense.

anyway I joined this forum to feel less alone since I'm practicaly surrounded by religious folks, not that I'm against it, but a conversation w/o church or Jesus or how full of truth the bible is,would be nice.

"I know what you are thinking about,' said Tweedledum: 'but it isn't so, nohow.'

'Contrariwise,' continued Tweedledee, 'if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic." ~Tweedledum and Tweedledee discussing the finer points of logic

Welcome and enjoy the forums. All we ask is that you leave some of the barbecued babies for the rest of us. They're delicious, we know, but you still have to share.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Welcome aboard! Is your name by any chance a reference to one of my all-time favourite Amiga strategy games, K240? Or just a startling coincidence?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Welcome in either case.

well I'm surrounded by religious folks not because of location but circumstance. I live in southern California, and in a pretty small town compared to the rest of SoCal. I know very few non-Christians. My family is super religious, most of my friends are religious.

Which is the main reason why, since realizing my atheism, that I've been trying to branch out beyond all my believer friends.

You're in the right place. There are just enough theists here to serve as bad examples.

I hope that you feel lonely when you're with me. Welcome.
