If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?

Love is just as irrational as faith. After all, plenty of people experience a love that can never be reciprocated, and that is unhealthy.

That's just plain selfish...

Since when does love require reciprocation?

That's a point we brought up earlier. It doesn't.
Real love requires no reciprocation. Love can be measured biologically as neurological electrical and chemical processes. Love come to find out can be replicated towards something that doesn't exist.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Love without reciprocation = stalking. Real love demands to be answered in kind with love.

So, if a father and son have a falling out and the son comes to hate the father but the father still loves the son, that is stalking?

I stalk peanut butter cups.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

The problem, of course, is that you can't have a good reason without evidence by definition, because it means you cannot demonstrate the truth of your proposition, even to yourself. You can believe it all you want, but if you can't show it, you don't know it.

So, essentially, you're taking a claim to be true despite having no way of knowing that. Besides, why are you privileging this one claim lacking in proof over any other? Why don't you believe in all gods, since there's the same amount of evidence for all of them?

It just occurred to me that if fr0d0's god is real, and Drich's definition holds true, god is stalking me.

If he was real, you could get a restraining order against him.

Only true for romantic and (possibly) platonic love.

Loving a family member who doesn't return it isn't stalking. And, isn't that the closest parallel we have to the supposed love for and from God?

Since I tried to love God and got the cold shoulder, did that make me the stalker?
