If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?

RE: If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?
As I said to myself in my last years as a Christian, the only way my God's existence would make sense is if He were completely above conventional/human reason.

Then I realized how dumb that actually is.

There's nothing logical about the Christian God, or really any god for that matter. There's no use proving Him logically. It's just not possible.

Bingo. Why should it? How do you jump from the subject to some physically extant being? I don't see where you made that leap.

Faith must have logic. Fanatics doesn't have logic in their faith, its blind. Logical knowledge from saith Scriptures is needed.

'A' god might be created. But 'the' god, the first cause, cannot.

Anything can be created by the imagination of man, including God.

What does that even mean?

What exactly is your "witness(ing)" behavior but attempts to convince others that the divine revelation you have (allegedly) experienced is real, and by fiat, that your god is real? It appears that you are, in fact, trying to prove that your god is real, but simply don't realize that that is what you are doing.

Your right about my experience being real for me, that's what I say when people ask me about my belief in God. Notice I did not mention anyone but myself, I can only live my experiences and verbally share them, if others then believe they are real in my life then my witness to them is real, if they decide my experiences are not real then my witness is not real to them. Either way I was not trying to prove to them God exists, I'm only showing I know He is real. After that it's God's work to prove to others He is real. As far a not realizing, I know I can not prove God's existence.

God asks us to be a witness for Him and then He will draw people to Himself and let them decide to believe or not. Even the scriptures do not try to prove God's existence.

Well, to quote your beloved bible...

1st Peter 3:15 Wrote:But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

So... hey.

To show your ignorance, that verse in no way says anything about proving God's existence, it only says to give my reasons for hope in God through Christ. This means to be a witness, simple really.

Well, the existence and continued usage of these arguments alone is evidence that people are in fact trying to prove God exists.

Am I to understand that you have never and will never use any of these? You have never made a post here using the argument from design, or the argument from morality, or any of the big ones?

Nope, I have not, I know I can not prove God is real to you, what I do with those arguments is to show why I know He is real. My witness to others.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The issue was about whether there was anything negative in the Bible. Certainly god ordering Israelites to murder and rape the women and children if its enemies (which is what God sis in the old testament) is certainly a negative outcome. And I believe it was you (correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think I am) who argued that "a negative force cannot create". I showed in both cases that the claims were wrong. So no I did not change the subject. Next.

Murder and rape aren't what God commanded. So I can't see how this addresses the subject. You're simply twisting the facts.
