I've been watching Lately Jesse stone movies. I like how they're settled in this fictionalized small resort town that you feel like you're taking a small vacation.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Be quiet, colonizer!
With the way Hollywood has been in the past few years I was surprised all the Africans were actually played by black people and the token white guy was played by a white guy...

(Rewatched) 'Quigley Down Under'. Terrific film, but the first time I saw it, I was much too focused on Laura San Giacomo trying not to fall out of her dress to focus on the plot.

Private Parts, 1972. A bit amateurish but had a good creepy factor. And Chip from My 3 Sons.

While stuck in Williston last week, I watched "Thor: Ragnarok," "Wonder Woman" and "The King's Speech."
Thor seemed to be going for self parody this time around, though Jeff Goldblum's part was terrific.
"Wonder Woman" wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that either. Decent origin story, I guess.
"The King's Speech" was fantastic. I cold have skipped the other two and been well pleased having seen only this one.
