Go! See! This! Film! Hollywood does one thing really well. Buddy movies. And, this is a great one. Having read the book (twice) I went in expecting it to be meh, at best, and was completely blown away. They stayed very true to the spirit of the story, even when taking huge liberties with the letter of the story at times.
Thief and assassin for hire. Member in good standing of the Rogues Guild.
To Catch A Killer (1992) about catching John Wayne Gacy. It's a little bit boring that they know right away that he's the murderer, so you watch them struggle for three hours to find evidence to indict him. The lowest point is when they visit a psychic, whose role is forced into the film, but it is clear that she had no impact on solving the case.
Nevertheless, the chief of police was so proud of his collaboration with the psychic that his book about solving the case contains a description: "Two articles give the reader a comprehensive insight into the use of psychics and the lie-detector in a serial murder investigation."
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
