There are almost 800 thousand law enforcement officers in the US. If you were right, youtube and newspapers would be flooded with police brutality.

You know what? Given the attitude of most cops I am not in the least surprised that some of them get shot.

It just came to my mind that when my dad moved here, he never applied for a driving licence in german language but kept his english one.
One day when he was stopped for traffic control, the cops simply packed him into a car and drove him to Vienna to the British embessey to "veryfy" that it was a real licence. A completly unnessecery and annoying thing to do. And that was during the early 1990s, meaning that my mother had no idea for an entire day where he was and it took him a long time to get back home.

It is things like these that I believe are mainly responsible for the bad reputation of some police forces and not only such media hyped incidents of brutality.
