Indeed. It occurs to me that in all of the use cases that involve a "gun firing", all of them require either intent or negligence.

Court hammers Florida sheriff’s office for SWAT-style raid to check for barber licenses

n appeals court harshly rebuked the Orange County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office over a SWAT-style raid to check for barber licenses, finding it was unreasonable to conduct such an investigation of a second-degree misdemeanor.

The U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that deputies had violated the civil rights of barbers at Strictly Skillz during a 2010 license inspection, reported the Sun-Sentinel.

“It was a scene right out of a Hollywood movie,” the court ruled.

The lawsuit is related to a series of sweeps at minority-owned barbershops and salons pairing deputies with the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation to inspect the businesses.

‘Friday night massacre’: 32 Florida prison guards fired for alleged abuses

Officials with the Teamsters Union, which represents the officers, called Crews’ mass firing a “Friday night massacre” that violated the officers’ right to due process and allowed supervisors to escape accountability for policies they put in place.

“The procedure they were following in Charlotte was well known and condoned by the warden,” Teamsters spokesperson Bill Curtis told the Herald. “Essentially they promoted the people most responsible and liable for the incident and fired everybody else down the chain.”

What, pray tell, do the state "agriculture agents" do?

The report listed the training status of nine certified officers. It also listed the efforts of an Office of Special Investigations where a supervisor and investigator "have gone through extensive training to investigate criminal and civil misconduct involving native plant theft and destruction; theft, killing and cruelty of livestock; illegal slaughter and processing of food animals; archaeological site destruction and theft of cultural resources."

And for THIS they need automatic weapons? Or, is it that their bosses can't resist shiny new toys and gadgets?
