As necessary as police may be there is no good reason not to criticize their excesses and outright lawbreaking. Any cop worth his salt will be glad to have the bad apples weeded out. When they stop being glad they need to rethink their own motives.

Yes, that is why I think FOP's should be illegal. It forms a structure for police racketeering by creating an enforcement arm.

The St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, is offering a “fun” and “entertaining” seminar on dealing with the media as part of their continuing education program for law enforcement officers.

Following in the wake of shooting death of teen Michael Brown and the heavily criticized response by militarized police to protestors involving teargas, officers arresting members of the media, and inflammatory comments made by officers to reporters and protestors alike, the academy is offering the 8-hour voluntary seminar at their headquarters for “top-level decision-makers, command staff, and supervisors.”

Florida deputies gun down man in towing dispute as son tried to explain he was deaf

Hernandez and another deputy were already at Fryer’s on an unrelated matter and heard a heated argument outside the building.

Hernandez went outside to investigate and identified himself as a deputy, and then he noticed Miller had a gun.

“While the specific sequence of events isn’t being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation, during the encounter, Hernandez perceived a threat and fired his duty weapon, striking and killing the man,” said Gary Davidson, a spokesman for the sheriff’s department.

But Miller’s son said he tried to explain to the deputies that his father was deaf.

“I kept telling them that he can’t hear them,” said the son, also named Edward Miller. “I kept telling them he can’t understand them.”

Three West Virginia Cops Choke, Batter Man with Huntington's Disease

In short, Jeffrey Bane was taking his kids down the street as best he can. Someone (who? the usual unknown 911 caller) called the police to report a child abuser because Bane didn't look normal enough, apparently, as he tried to manage a stroller.

The upshot is three cops sitting on a man who can't control his muscles, telling him to control his muscles. You see, they don't know Huntington's Disease or another physical handicap from their own arses, they simply assume he's drunk or stoned, and proceed to inflict injury.
