Pittsburgh cops Tased man while he was praying for his dead son in ER: lawsuit

The suit accuses an officer of unlawfully using his Taser against Rev. Earl Baldwin Jr. on June 24, 2012. Baldwin said that at the time, he was in the emergency room of UPMC Mercy Hospital attempting to pray for his stepson, 23-year-old Mileek Grissom. Grissom was shot and killed that day while reportedly trying to break up a fight.

But Baldwin argues that police slid Grissom’s hospital bed away before restraining him.

“Watch the video,” his attorney, Joel Sassone, was quoted as saying. “Not only was the child not being treated, the child was dead.”

A grand jury will begin hearing evidence next week in the controversial case of Eric Garner, who died after New York police put him in a banned choke hold.

The July 17 death of Garner, a 43-year-old black father of six, spurred national debate over how U.S. police treat minorities.

“We are confident that, if the evidence is fairly presented to the grand jury, they will conclude that, while this was a sad and tragic event resulting from Mr. Garner’s resistance to arrest, the officers acted properly and within the scope of the law,” PBA President Patrick Lynch said in a statement.

The PBA is the police union. They are supposed to represent the officer.

The quote doesn't come from "other cops". The quote you cited comes from an officer of the union which represents the cop. What do you expect a union tasked with representing this cop who is undoubtedly facing disciplinary action to say? Are you that naive about the purpose of unions and how they work?
