Quite a jolt to realize how fucked up the racial narrative is getting what with a black Baltimore mayor, police chief, prosecutor and 1/2 of the indictees.

Maybe we fire everybody and go all Samoan??

If you go through the thread you'll see lots of instances where black cops are just as vicious as white cops.  The problem is not black v white.  The problem is black v blue... with whites cheering blue on in order to protect "property values."  (Okay that last bit is a generalization....until you read on up why it is happening.)

Broken windows policing is back in New York City, and it may have killed Eric Garner. “Broken windows” is an order-maintenance strategy that encourages cops to enforce quality-of-life laws on the grounds that, essentially, nits breed lice. It presumes that a disorderly environment where small laws are broken with impunity leads to bigger problems. This is the mindset that led the police to approach Garner for allegedly selling untaxed cigarettes: loose cigarettes today, civil unrest tomorrow.

Though NYPD Commissioner William Bratton is a big proponent of broken windows policing, there’s no evidence that the policy is effective in reducing violent crime. At the same time, the effects of order-maintenance policing are felt disproportionately by members of minority groups. In August, responding to critics’ claims that these policies unfairly target people of color, Bratton told the Associated Press that “it's not an intentional focus on minorities. It's a focus on behavior.” Bratton added, “We are not a racist organization—not at all.”

The high command aims the police at minority communities - here in AZ it is primarily Mexicans who catch shit, not blacks.  The results are predictable when you have the police brass dehumanizing the people they are supposed to be "protecting and serving."

Baltimore police still have a ways to go.  Wear a t-shirt they don't like and out comes the pepper spray.  Well, at least they didn't break his neck.  And they did pour water on his face after they pepper sprayed him.....at least, we can hope it was water.

 It was completely provoked. The guy walked directly up to the cops and defiantly displayed his black skin to them, it wasn't about the T-shirt.

What could the cops have done? Go back home with a full can of pepper spray and have a black, cop defying protester walking around??? Not bloody likely..

He'd gotten a shot of pepper if he had been wearing a "My Little Pony" t-shirt.

I see they at least charged him, but only with aggravated assault.  That looks like attempted murder to me.
