Because it didn't matter to what point I was making. Not at all. I told the cop we were doing 30 mph. Which was against my best interest. Now why would I do that? I had everything to lose and nothing to gain by giving that incorrect information.

You know...everyone arguing in favor of Trayvon is really coming up short. Are you guys aware of what cognitive dissonance is? It's when, in the face of evidence mounting against you, you continue to stick to your original stance without accepting the new information. Here's a suggestion to everyone; try actually learning about the trial and doing so without your preconceptions. Do it with an open mind that Trayvon might have or might have not deserved what happened to him. Do it with an open mind that Zimmerman may or may not have been innocent. Do so with a completely blank mind, read through the evidence and what happened, reading through the transcripts, compare them with the location of the incident, do all of this stuff, and quit being so fucking DOGMATIC. You guys are starting to sound a little too damn close to what religious fundamentalists sound like and the sheer amount of ignorance being displayed? It's starting to actually kinda piss me off because it's coming from individuals I otherwise considered to be open-minded and reasonable and now suddenly you guys are starting to shit all over that.

I've not read the entire post so I may be repeating someone else. This matter was settled in a court of law and the man was found not guilty, it's over as far as the laws concerned and the constitution supports this. I do not believe the verdict was correct because, I do not believe the charge was correct, but none of this matters either, the law by which we live prevailed and this is what we must live with, if we want to survive as a nation. I've seen some here who put down the Biblical law of an eye for an eye, but now that it suits them it's okay, double standards do not benefit a nation. IMO if the state had brought the proper charge we would have seen a different out come, but as I said none of it matters now the justice system has spoken. It's good to debate an issue like this but getting angry with each other accomplishes nothing other than greater division, don't you think that's going in the wrong direction.

And what, please tell, would you have rather seen Zimmerman tried for? I keep hearing people make vague allusions to "different charges," and yet nobody ever really suggests one.

Zimmerman was found not guilty according to the law...the real liars to emerge from all this are the race baiters like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the radicals on MSLSD news...those are the guys who want to keep stirring the racial pot.
