A lot of people get really nervous with the subject of math which is pretty unfortunate - this is probably due a combination of the "stigma" behind mathematics and the way it is taught.

I do not consider myself stupid, but higher math is something around which I could never wrap my brain. Some people simply are not inclined to understanding it no matter how much they study it.

Plenty of smart people don't get math. Some smart people's brains are hardwired to understand it, and some smart people's brains aren't.
