Santa did exist, it's true. He had an unfortunate... accident in my parent's living room on Christmas Eve in 1977.
Yes, as a matter of fact, that is the year that Santa didn't bring me the minibike I asked for. Why do you ask?

Okay, the god belief is a completely different proposition. It is completely unrealistic, makes no logical sense and has no evidence for it whatsoever.
Belief in Santa is something completely different. And he doesn't actually zoom around the planet with flying reindeer. That's a metaphor for how he can be with us in an instant, in spirit, and the flying reindeer represent his connection to nature.
Bullshit. BOTH to believe in require a fucking lobotomy. The difference is that kids recover from the Santa lobotomy and adults don't with God belief.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You sound like an asantaist to me. There is still time for you to repent before Christmas. Santa do want to bring you presents, all you have to do is believe.
I'll wish for you.

Yes he did, he's a Christian saint. He's dead. But being a saint, he will continue to live in heaven according to Christian belief. This guy, who lives in the northpole, I don't know. I never saw him flying anywhere. I don't know who made him up.

He kinda looks like our Dede Korkud though with his felt hat and his beard. But Dede Korkud was not fat. He also did not ride a sledge. He was a bard of great renown, Khans and Princes listened to his council, whereas this guy spends his time somewhere cold having little demons do the work for him.

I bet Kayenneh has met him.

Suddenly my yearly haul of coal dust in a mangled sock makes sense. (Repairing a mantle when you're only three sucks!)

Just an interesting (ish) did you know?
In most of the Western World Santa Claus is supposed to be St. Nicolas but not in Greece. In Greece he is Saint Vassilis (Basil) and he doesn't come on Christmas Eve with presents - he comes on new Year's Eve, traditionally.
