Hey Peter. Thanks for your answer. Right now it is a tiny bit confusing to me as I still have no idea what you actually believe in.
I will spend a bit of time researching it tomorrow and come back with more questions (if that is allowed), I enoy finding out what makes people tick. For now, good night

Do you dance?
Because we can dance if we want to We can leave your friends behind 'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance Well they're no friends of mine (July 31, 2013 at 6:49 pm)PeterPriesthood Wrote:(July 31, 2013 at 6:49 pm)Cthulhu Dreaming Wrote: What if I don't want to go to Heaven or Hell? Hmmm? Nice non-answer. What if I don't want to go to heaven, be resurrected, or live forever?

Quote:I always find amusing the Mormom practice of distancing themselves from Christians. You're a Christian, mate. Deal with it.We now know much about how Heaven will look, where it will be, who will be there, and what kinds of things we can expect to happen once we attain exaltation on high. Quote:lol, you don't know any of that. You merely believe it, which is not the same thing at all. Then perhaps I'm one of your wrong-headed Christians all over, Quote:Partly you are, yes. But primarily, you're simply one of the duped Mormon masses taken in by the fraudulent, semi-literate criminal, Joseph Smith.because I believe God has revealed to me through study and prayer that the things I believe are true. Quote:I find myself unsurprised. Anyone who can believe Joseph Smith was a prophet instead of a confindence trickster must be prepared to believe anything.I feel like anything contrary to my faith is either false for the sake of misleading us, or its explanation will be revealed at a later date. Quote:Nice way to hedge that bet.God's ways are not our own, so we can't expect everything all at once. I believe that we receive knowledge line upon line, precept upon precept. Quote:Given that all religions - every single one - are man-made, you're dead wrong. God's ways ARE our ways, you just have your word order muddled up.

If we all go to heaven, then why did god bother to write so many versions of holy books to "guide" people? To what end, if we all go to heaven? Why don't you join us godless people and have all the fun you want in this lifetime, and go to heaven in the next, just like us?
Do you even lift?

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Hey priest!
How do you react to the claims that Joseph Smith was a known conman? Also how do you account for his translation of the Book of Mormon from the tablets? He translated it in the 19th century but used 17th century English? Do you honestly believe the whole story that he was visited by an angel who was a white Native American, then he found the tablets in a hill, then he translated them by looking into a hat, then he lost the translations and had to do it again but held a blanket inbetween him and the scribe. Doesn't that seem a little farfetched?

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House “Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom "If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech |
