Sorry, I've been away for a few days, and I haven't had internet for some time, but I'll be answering questions now. -Alcohol is expensive due to the fact that the current gov has privatized and sold stuff as much as it can, and it needs money. So, higher taxes on "luxury goods" such as alcohol and cigarettes. For me it's no problem though I'm now at our family hotel, enjoying free drinks from time to time. -They aren't? To be honest, I've met quite worse. 12 year old Turkish girls, giving handjobs in class hours? Never saw those in Turkey. NEVER. -Well, I guess you've been using a "dolmuş". Which means "already stuffed" in Turkish. Use the newer transportation methods such as the rail bus. -Gambling, yes, it is a bane upon the people here. Turks are sadly drawn to unreal concepts such as "free money", that is, money that you make by investing as little as possible, but expecting huge return, like in gambling. Thankfully I don't gamble. -I don't know anything about that. -The kebab they serve you isn't even genuine. The best places to eat a kebab is from the region they originate from. -BMW's, they be flash, kardeş. -I fear my mother. You don't? They're mothers, and in our culture, motherhood is a sacred institution. From our pre-muslim times, women held high positions in Turkish society, constituting the majority among the shamans, and revered due to their ability to bear children. Similarly, our ancestor was a legendary female wolf. So females, especially mothers have a revered positon in society, and their sons respect them. I respect my mother. I'd do anything for her. -Yes, that's weird, having a portrait of Stalin next to Atatürk, who has tried to snuff out communism in Turkey by mercilessly killing their leaders of the time? Wow. To be honest, the existence of communism in Turkey is due to the failure of the government from the WWII days. They tried to play both sides, but they have sucked up to the soviets a bit too much, allowing communists to gain ground in all high positions and universities while throwing nationalists in jail for being German spies. Well, the government even removed all pictures of Atatürk from public places, since he was associated with nationalism, but it was re-instated later. The person who did it was the right hand man of Atatürk. Quote:What... is the airspeed velocity of an unladen Swallow? What do you mean? A european or an african swallow? They ship their best beer abroads, giving us piss to drink. I still drink it though because its our piss instead of foreign piss. There are other brands available such as Tuborg and Carlsberg and etc. Quote:What if I don't have enemies? If you don't have enemies, make enemies. It's really that simple. I'm not interested in televized sports, neither in football hooliganism, at least no more, before that, I was a fan of Ankaragücü a football team from Ankara. After nearly getting arrested, I quit on hooliganism. And to the rest, really it's a matter of personal taste. After you've scattered your enemies you can do as you like. Effes was disgusting, but, I loved that we could stop at the little shops and buy small, ice cold, glass bottles of flavored vodka and gin. We got hammered-ass drunk and then went white water rafting in the mountains there. Awesome time spent in Turkey. Plus, the women there are fucking gorgeous! It seemed like there was significantly more of them than men too. I liked that they didn't all wear those drapes on their face as much as other predominantly muslim countries I've been too. Although, those drapes do let you use your imagination. Quote:I went to Antalya and had a great time. I'm now having my vacation, after a long term+summer school and all I do is sit around in the shade, I don't like to feel the baking hot sun on the back of my neck. I'm planning on something for tonight, let's see what goes with dem tourists, and perhaps I'll have myself a good old time. Quote:Plus, the women there are fucking gorgeous!Well, I can't know, man. I don't pay much attention to Turkish girls most of the time. Most are around with their families or boyfriends. Especially in a place I don't know. Quote: It seemed like there was significantly more of them than men too.Yes, it seems as though the female population is exceeding the male by a large margin, though it has made the females no less precious than before. They are still 10x worth the skin of a man still, and we have to swallow our pride even more now. Quote: I liked that they didn't all wear those drapes on their face as much as other predominantly muslim countries I've been too.Well, not so much in Antalya, though no one wears veils here, except in certain places in Istanbul perhaps. There are still a lot of girls who wear headscarves, though they wear a kind of a *weird* more "modern" looking headscarf that makes them look like nuns. Ye olde headscarves of the rural women were much better, at least looking authentic. Quote:Although, those drapes do let you use your imagination.Well, there aren't many women who wear the niqab here, nor the veil. But as I said, they have some new, weird type of headscarf now, and they even invented fashion to go with it. Frankly I think its ridiculous, and they claim they wear it for religion. If they really want to wear something for religion, let them wear the niqab. It's 100x more modest, and to be honest, 100x less of an eyesore. Why can I unscramble the word veil, the clothing piece that muslim woman wear, and be able to spell evil?!?!
Why is there something rather than nothing?
Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren't created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars.
