I love to run when it's light out enough to make the woods look like they aren't the set of the vine rape scene in Evil Dead (this is a problem in NC - the woods looking that way, not actually being that way).
Although I just broke down and got another card for our community gym. I hate treadmills. -_- I'd rather run in the woods and pretend to be a Mirkwood elf.

I need to get back to running.
I took two years ago off because I was fixing up my house and it got to be too much to do training runs AND physical labor around the house.
And then the next year I crapped out when my friend said she wanted to walk the half-marathon, so I didn't have a reason to train for running...
And this year they haven't announced the half-marathon here so I'm wondering if they'll even have one...
In any case, I need to get back to it.

Have been running, and doing cross fit. Ran tonight, 4 miles added sprints. It went great, but it gets dark so early. Hate running in the dark. :/
I simply DON'T run in the dark. I need to listen to something when I run so I'm running with headphones in, which isn't the safest thing to be doing. I don't really have a problem with visibility - I just wear a flashy bike-light on at my waist. It's the not hearing things coming that freaks me out.
So I run in the daytime.

That's my problem. I don't run in areas that are safe during the darker months of the year. :/

Agree entirely.
At least running outside you get fresh air and a changing view (not to mention a higher standard of pervs...)

We have a nature trail starting around the corner from my house, where I go for a run. It's not safe in there at night though, which makes it shit in winter when it's dark at 4PM. I need a new route, but it's all built up busy roads every other way.
