14. To look down their noses at the godless and reinforce their feelings of superiority.

It's interesting that you think you have the stronger argument yet you refuse to offer up a single piece of evidence for any of your assertions. I think you wouldn't recognize a strong argument if it punched you in the face.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

The religious really ARE very VERY insecure in their "faith"

15. To play chess like a pigeon.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Because they resent the fact that other have not been terminally infected as they have, so they act out by sneezing in other people's faces and spitting in other people's soup.

I'd keep the recipe books. You never know when you might want to make an awesome dinner.

1. They are questioning their own beliefs.

2. They were shunned by their own-kind and they are now seeking refuge.

3. They are inebriated and thinking more clearly.

4. There is hope in their hearts that they will actually find someone to brain-wash? A stupid atheist? What has a better chance of existing? A god or a dumb atheist?

5. To quote the bible to us, because their own kids think that they are completely insane.

6. Looking for an intelligent conversation after the lame sermon they just experienced. Too bad it takes two to tongue-tangle.

7. They cannot afford the cover-charge at their local church.

Hi non-atheists, why do you log-on to atheistforums.org?

Thanks and please take care.

I'm not particularly religious but I know when I was reading a description for this site it mentioned something about being a place where atheists and theists can debate.

Within the church one usually hears the positive things that do not make Christians uncomfortable, here I do get questions that challenge me, I like that, it gives me a greater reason to investigate what's in scripture.
