As far as Bronze age beliefs, it has nothing to do with the quality of the belief, rather the unfortunate tendency for humans to be extremely gullible and superstitious.

And to cap off my counter-arguments, your reading of the scripture doesn't fare any better than my educated guess about theists that can be observed. She didn't. What drugs are you on? She merely assessed your Holy Book and found it wanting, whilst supporting of the bizarre positions held by Christians (where she cited examples - and you weren't one of them).
