What, you're not ashamed of how you looked like an uneducated, childish fool?
That's what now? Three times you've made an ass of yourself and ran from a direct challenge?

As for your dumbass not remembering disagreeing...

So which is it? Is she off the hook for her burden of proof or not?

Excuse me but I've told you that you are full of shit everytime you try to pull the "it doesn't mean what it fucking says" routine.

You are such a bullshit artist, G-C.

Godschild, your reply is next. This is for Catfish.

I'm aware you don't believe Aeon to be an indefinite amount of time. Frankly, if that's the case then I don't really care. Any amount of time in torment is uncalled for by a benevolent creator--who, by the way, was described by the very same word therefore he's either not eternal or everything else is eternal . It's not my fault your bible was translated into the KJV and all other translations to mean eternal. I say that's your gods fault too for letting it stand as his direct communication to humanity (if he existed that is).

Romans 1
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Matthew 25

Verses describing Hell as a sulfery fiery torment

God can't be a god over non existential beings, dude. It's pretty clear he's describing there to be an afterlife, not that we die and cease to exist, but you believers get eternal life.

Revelations 14
9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

Jeremiah states,

"`How can you say, "We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?' (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)

Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Rev 19:5-10
)

...and yet when Jesus comes back he does not correct this faux pas?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Feeding the trolls with anything of worth is wasted, but you've done a lovely job with this spread here. Maybe he really did want to see this. Perhaps he'll surprise us this time.

Lol prolly not. He's stuck on the mistranslation of Aeonian to justify his god as not being a megalomaniac asshole. As far as I can ascertain from a good 8mo of observation of his majority of snide remarks, Catfish is a non conformist Christian. (correct me if I'm wrong, Catifsh. You're hard to pin down on anything.)

Wow, you really have no clue about anything, huh?
1st, I am the one who pointed out to you that "eonian" means an indeterminate period of time, so I don't know where you came up with that.
2nd, this is about your claim to have read the Bible and that it says it is unerring and that it is a requirement to follow it.
3rd, you keep harping about punishment being unfair? Who are you, dazzn or Koolay or something???
4th, I'm going to laugh because your opening paragraph about God not being eternal was hillarious as Romans 1:20 was the same verse that I had refered to when I told you that there was a Greek word used in the NT which does mean "eternal". Go check if you don't believe me.

RE: A small thanks to the resident Theists..
I don't understand any of your qualms, Catfish. I said you think Aeonian means indeterminate not eternal.
I stated in my first paragraph how there was a word referenced in describing god as Aeonian. I then went on to say that if
god was described as such and he's supposedly eternal, then the rest of the translated references would also have to mean eternal.
Since they obviously do not (in describing Jonah's fish experience and such), then either god is not eternal or he is and everything else does
mean eternal (like HELL).
No, sir. Who do you think You are, to assign a judgement upon me (indeterminate or not)when I've done nothing to deserve such treatment? A judgement your own brethren hold to be eternal torment in hell. My life would be a lot better off not even knowing about your silly viewpoint, honestly. Instead, here you are on an atheist forum telling me that oh I'm only going to hell for an indeterminate amount of time. Seriously, go suck a big one catfish.

OH! AND you're a Waste Of Breath. Your two sentence replies to a half hours+ worth of work? FUCK OFF TROLL.

I like it here.

Please show me I'm wrong and I don't see you defending what you believe. I've offered to explain those verses even though I know most will reject what I say.

Smile GC

Surely that's already been done by 3-4 people already, probably more. I don't need to parrot what they've said already.

And I don't see my beliefs being challenged. Would you like to?

Why, he's an arsonist, lighting fires to watch the flames. Heck, even when he may have a point, he withholds his full thoughts on the subject at hand to allow others to twist in the wind. That way, he can swoop in with triumphant 'nuh-uhs', 'you are wrongs', and ad hominems. In a discussion and/or debate between multiple parties, I find this close to the vest approach to exchanging ideas damnable.
