So there Tongue.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

There you go again, assuming you know why I'm here, etc. I don't care who you are, atheist or Christian, Islamic or Buddhist - if I hear bullshit I'll call you on it.
Quote:Channeling catfish's aloofness isn't going to make you any form of right, and sorta disappoints to be honest. I legitimately want to know why after everything I've laid out for you, you still hold fast to your beliefs.
No, you're assuming that there's only one view on a range of issues to which there are multiple views among scholars and theologians. You think that you can quote a few verses that talk about a particular subject and that the conclusion you draw is the only conclusion to be held.
Quote:Most atheists I ask equate you to wanting it to be true so you are deceiving yourself into believing it's true and any information that contradicts your morals in any way is dismissed by any number of logical fallacies. Secretly deep down I hope that is not the case, because honestly: that's fucked up beyond measure.
I can prove to you that the Bible isn't "fake", and yet you will let your bias prevent you from accepting it.

The clearest possible proof there is is the siege of Jerusalem which occurred in 70AD. The prophecy can be found four times: Matthew 24:1-2, Mark 13:1-2, Luke 19:41-44, and Luke 21:5-9.

Paul is martyred in 64 or 67AD. Luke is an associate of Paul (see 2 Timothy 4:11), and the author of the Gospel According to Luke and The Book of Acts. Luke writes extensively about Paul in the book of Acts, which is written before the death of Paul. The Gospel according to Luke is written about a year or so earlier than the book of Acts, so c. 60-61AD. It is widely accepted that Luke is the last of the synoptic gospels to have been written, thus all four of the prophecies that I've given you were written prior to c. 62AD. The siege of Jerusalem happens in AD 70.

Now you will tell me the same thing that every atheist says to this evidence - that the prophecy was inserted AFTER AD 70 into a copy of each of the Gospels. The two responses I have to this are: 1. Prove it. It's up to you to prove that evidence is wrong if you disagree with it. 2. We have NT manuscripts from the second century, and even one from the first century, and none of them contain a contradiction to the manuscripts we have from the 3rd and 4th centuries, this completely disproves the theory of "systematic tampering", so again - where' the proof?

Your biblical circle jerk proves nada. Your whole religion is bollocks, and you're reduced to shuffling crumbs to recreate bread. What a shitty miracle that would be.

Yawn.

The problem with these predictions is that they are all wrong. Every single one of them refers to "not one stone will be left upon another."

Erm.......Western (or Wailing) Wall????

I've been - it was still standing (1980). As far as I know it still stands today.

It was there in '93. Plenty of daveners kissing it as well. Yech.

That's a very poor response.

'And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”'

I think you know why, but I'll say it. The prophecy is clear and very accurate to specifically how it was taken, and that is by seige.

And yet it was VERY specific - not one stone. Its not my fault - I didn't write it - that's what it says - not one stone and it is in every single one of the references. If any of them had said "barely one stone upon the other" or something you could have it - but they didn't.

How is it a poor response to point out that it was wrong, at least in part.

That remaining wall has been a rallying point for Jews for 2,000 years. It is a symbol of hope and faith for the entire religion. Even the might of Rome couldn't destroy the temple completely. You can't simply ignore it just because it doesn't quite match your flavour of your religion.
