A tshirt wrapped around my head in a house full of sickies. Cleaning up vomit (it's everywhere coming from everyone) at nearly 5 am. Exactly how I love to spend my Tuesday mornings

Awww Losty.
![]() Sounds like a heck of a bender, though. Poker night was a success!
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
-Stephen Jay Gould
Trying not to look at my work emails. It's my weekend. Convincing myself that I truly don't need to know any real time save rates or look at any FTE reports. My team will do just fine without my intervention. Work stress has shot through the roof with my most recent promotion.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Just back from cuddling my daughter's Guinea Pig. There's a new piggie in the house and she's in need of extra attention. I'm surprised how much I like the Guinea Pig. I thought that dogs and cats were the best of pets without real rivals. I'm changing my mind. Piggies like cuddles and they chuckle when pet. Good pets are pets that like people.
Guinea Pigs are good pets. Penny is a darling.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
The hamster in my avatar positively loathes humans. Oh well, he had a rough childhood

I've always loved guinea pigs and hamsters, especially dwarf hammies. The only real problem with hamsters is their short lifespan. You know upon getting one that within a couple of years you're going to experience heartbreak.
![]() My longest living hamster, a little darling by the name of Captain Oats, nearly made it to four years, which is ancient by dwarf hamster standards.

My nose is running like a faucet. My head is pounding. I'm watching a Mythbusters marathon on the Science Channel and trying to stay awake so I can give my nose a quick wipe, smother my lips and face with Purell, and plant one on my lady at midnight so's I can pass out in a pile of self pity and snot.

Kitty and I are both still sick, but at least we're on the upswing. Gonna be a quiet night at home, Chinese takeout and adult beverages.
