What's everyone up to right now?

I called in an order to a take and bake pizza place Saturday night and they told me it would be an hour before I could pick it up.

At a take and bake place.

Where I take the pizza home and bake it myself.

It would take them and hour to sprinkle cheese on some dough.

I'll wait until the summer, when I'm back in Ohio. Lived in NYC all of my life and some of the best pizza I've had was a place near my home in Ohio. The destruction of my belief that the only good pizza was in NYC and Chicago is assuaged by the realization that I won't miss out on great pizza when I leave here. (To be honest, there are few places that I've found in NYC that make the kind of pizza that people boast about, and at least two of those closed their doors years ago.)
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

You clearly haven't been to Boston.

Lover her just the same. I walked her to school when she was in first grade. I was in 3rd. Longest frienship I have.

I won't ask you to help in our basement. (Not that I've known you any where near long enough to qualify.) But I literally live in a warehouse and have been here for over thirty years. It isn't so much that we're hoarders as that we're lazy about getting rid of shit and time hasn't been our friend. When we croak I'm recommending dynamite and a bulldozer.

Not me, I made a megapot of soup two days ago and don't intend to eat or cook anything else for a week. Mmmm chicken soup with celery, rutabaga, carrots and onions. Simple but good.

I've been eating pizza a lot lately. My grocery shopping has been disorganized, so I run out a lot. Still, pizza is yum.

I'm continuing planning this hypothetical trip to NC in summer. About to peruse the Triangle Freethought Society page just for the hell of it.

I don't want pizza right now. My stomach can't process that stuff for breakfast.

Oh hell. Just hell.

An acquaintance of mine, a very joyful and positive woman, who I met through another friend (they were/are somewhat close), had been having a perfect, excited pregnancy...all up until the due date, when nothing happened. They went to the doctor, and found out the baby had died. They still don't know what happened so suddenly. She had to deliver a stillborn this morning.

Fucking hell.
