Trying to just get out of a funk I've been in since last night.

You're out at sea snapping the necks of an endless line of generic henchmen, how is that not fun? I'm sitting here trying to burp.

Wait...what?

Who is just off work for a month?!?!?

Crazy Kiwi people...
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I am.

I pretty much wrote off my Christmas holiday so I'm taking the rest of May off.

Because I can.

Well, I'm sure you deserve it.
I know I deserve a holiday and it looks like I'm gonna have to quit to get it and then I won't be able to afford it.
I'm seriously thinking about selling my place and maybe going back to uni.
I just hope I can still learn new tricks. :-)

If you want to hear the longest most ridiculous argument from incredulity, skip to 31:00! OK maybe there have been longer more ridiculous ones. But it's pretty bad.

I recall one particular repeat caller whose first big call had him present this gem as evidence of god: "We don't know how the pyramids were built. How did they do that?"

... That was seriously it. For maybe twenty minutes straight, bigging up how incomprehensible the architecture of the pyramids were (by fiat assertion) and somehow attempting to spin that paltry argument into evidence for Noah's flood while he was at it.

RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Had a bit of a ridiculous day. Walked out to go to work this morning and my car's tire was flat. So, I walked (a bit over a mile, now that the weather's nice I hope to walk often but, given today's circumstances it meant I was late).

Work was fine if a little weird (including the first time in 9 months working here I've seen my boss get mad! Not at me, thank goodness!). At the end of work, a coworker loaned me a tire iron or whatnot that could get all the nuts off (lol that's what she said) so I could put the donut on and drive to the auto shop (the tire was *definitely* not driveable). So, I walked te mile+ back from work (in my suit and tie) with a tire iron.

When I got home, I realized 1) there's an additional nut/bolt holding the tire on that I need something else - I have no idea what - to remove, AND 2) I left me keys at work.

SO, I walked back to the office - still in suit and tie, because I couldn't get into my apartment - and grabbed my keys. By that point it was almost 5:30, and since I was planning on going to the bar anyway (I normally go at 9 for Thursday trivia night, but wanted to get there by 8 tonite to catch the NFL draft), I decided to kill an hour and walk over.

SO, happy ending: I'm sitting at the bar, drinking blueberry wheat ale, eating a burger with bacon and pineapple, and getting ready to watch the draft, which starts in 5 minutes. As an Eagles fan, I can't look away.
How will we know, when the morning comes, we are still human? - 2D

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.
