What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Listening to Newstalk ZB and eating a meager amount, trying to recover from stomach flu.

First day of the new job is in the books, and I fucking love it. Everybody is super nice and there's a lot of traveling. Pretty freeing.

The lady training me is super nice, but she did say a pretty odd thing out of the blue. It caught me so off guard that I can't remember what we were talking about before hand. I do know it had nothing to do with what she suddenly recited at me, and I do mean recited; she lifted her right hand and everything- "We all came from the same mother. 3,000 years ago, Lucy walk the plains of Africa, but me? I serve the Lord." She ended it with a little giggle. I didn't really know what to say, so I just nervously laughed (sorry, Steel Big Grin) It sounded like she's saying "this is what science says (except the 3,000 year thing), but I believe in god." But then she clarified by saying "That's what I tell people when they can't believe I'm an evolutionist and a Christian." To which I said the only thing I could think of that wasn't too confrontational, but also might show that these were topics I think about- "You know, 'evolutionist' is what creationists call us. I like to think of it as just accepting reality."

We got side tracked so it didn't go anywhere. This really isn't a big deal and I'm not worried or looking for thoughts or opinions, because it is what it is, but it's sitting in my gut just enough to make me want to tell it, and you guys are the only people I can tell things like this. I left it out of my "How was work?" talk with the people I know.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Really nice, thank you.  Started off cool and cloudy but the sun came out and it warmed up before noon.  So no complaints.  I had two different flickr friends come for the first time this year.  One was from near Hollywood.  The other from Sherwood, a southwest suburb of Portland.  She brought a bowl of roasted hazelnuts from her Mom's farm.  Yummers.  I've been to the garden of my Oregonian friend, but not this one from Southern Cal.  Her husband was in film making and produced some of the footage for Gravity.

I talked with one young artist lady who was really getting off on the garden.  She was so full of woo but easy to look at with make up, hair dyed, tats and piercings that made her seem exotic.

Don't forget to stop by if you get up this way sexybecca.

My roku stick is locked up and the WDTV media appliance has a dead battery for the clock backup, so I can't use Netflix.

I hate technology.

Redundancy! Get a PS4!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I ordered a Blu-ray player for the bedroom to replace these funky devices. Wifi, Blu-ray, Netflix, Amazon, the works.

I think this was perfect:

Where do you live?  I've known so many Christians that believe in evolution, that I found the new creationist movement startling.

Congratulations, it sounds like it was otherwise a great day. Smile

Me too.  Except when it works and does something I want.

I'm very boring right now. We're moving and prepping the current house for sale. It's lots of work and all consuming. Yesterday I gave away two van loads of stuff and filled a six yard dumpster (blush) and today I bought shelves. I'm tired and vegging after cleaning up dinner.
