Back from my cousin's wedding. May share pics if there are any of me that are decent.

I'm a surgeon who worked my first year of med school in the morgue.  I sat in on my first autopsy within a week of starting the work, and I've performed my first  - supervised - autopsy within 6 months.

Gore doesn't worry me.

Just wanted to say my cousin totally punched above his weight range on this one. The bride, whom we've known for ~10 years during their on again/off again dating period is a bonafide cutie.

Watching the first episode of The Simpsons. I doubt I ever saw it before.

Getting ready to go to school. It's 6:35 am, and I didn't sleep well. But my last class got cancelled! So I can come home and nap before work.

Two stories:

(They're sad excuses for stories, but whatever, I lead a small life Angel )

(1) My firm does healthcare design and there was one job we were doing where we had to go into the morgue freezer to see if there was any life safety devices in there (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc) and my coworker freaked out at the thought of even going near the freezer.  There wasn't even anything it in, it was completely empty.

(2) As part of the pre-design for another project I had to as-built an autopsy room (go in and measure the space).  The room itself was completely boring (tiled floors and walls, the autopsy tables, equipment, etc.) but there were these four or five-tiered racks of body parts in containers in the corner that were FASCINATING!!  I couldn't stop staring at them!  I was reading the labels seeing what they were and one of the containers said the stuff inside was a "Rectum, with tattoo."  I looked and looked and looked... but I couldn't see no tattoo. Tongue

That was also the day I was as-builting the lab where they bring all the excised body parts to be biopsied so I got to see a tech preparing slides for a kidney (it looked like a brain... they told me it was all full of tumors and it didn't usually look like that) and another tech examining an excised eyeball.  Totally awesome.

I'm definitely the weird one in my office. Big Grin
