What's everyone up to right now?

Intelligent design my ass!
![]() I could give you a serious answer, but I'll just suggest you read The Red Queen by Matt Ridley. ![]() My package arrived. A blu-ray of fireplaces and a tv wall mount. And my head is coming clear of the effect of last night's medication. ![]() ![]()
A girl in a class I'm in keeps asking me for help on her assignments. She's clearly struggling with the class. But all her questions she asks me are easily answered by the course syllabus and from what the professor has said many times in class (I haven't seen her miss a class either) about these assignments. English isn't her first language and she isn't fluent in it at all but still I can't imagine how a person who's attended every class and has a syllabus could not know basic stuff that's been answered many times on how to do the assignments. Maybe I underestimate the language barrier?

Is she better at speaking/hearing english than reading/writing it? Some folks are.

Holy fuck. The studs in this wall are faced to the side, not on edge, so I've got 4" of meat to sink into, but will have to use short bolts. The hanger weighs probably 15 lbs, as does the TV. I'd rather the long bolts, but whatever. Ask her to go talk to the prof with you. If need be, imply that she will be helping you* out. ![]() (December 5, 2013 at 4:47 pm)apophenia Wrote: Ask her to go talk to the prof with you. If need be, imply that she will be helping you* out. I've told her to ask the professor these questions. I doubt she has. She acts timid about asking the professor anything.
