Drinking a nice glass of cabernet, reading some philosophy

Catching up on finishing season five of Haven, a show I only started watching about a month ago and now found out is being canceled after this season.

I got a letter in the mail urging me to join the NRA. The letter read in one part: "Right now, your constitutional right to own a gun is under attack by anti-gun politicians, radical billionaires, militant anti-hunting extremists, and the freedom-hating Hollywood elite."
The whole thing was lowest-common-denominator fear-mongering bullshit.

Just gone through a few beers with the old man, so I'm in an appropriate mood to listen to Fairytale of New York for the first time this year. Fuck I love this song :3

Went to visit Dad today. Was surprised to see that Nan hasn't been tending to the grave, we thought she'd have been up there every week.
I need to go more often, I hate seeing it look so bleak. I want to put a big Maltese flag there and some red and white flowers to match

Not to contradict, but a few years ago I volunteered with a group that went and restored an old abandoned and forgotten cemetery.
When I got there, it was a little rounded hilltop, maybe 100 stones, a trio of big pine trees in the middle and and it was covered with a couple acres of red clover.
Well, our crew 'cleaned' it up, but I think it was prettier before we touched it.
I've never volunteered again . . . . .

Well, I got there today and there were 2 empty water bottles that had blown onto the grave. There's no stone yet either. It got removed before we buried Dad (my grandfather is also buried in this plot) and we have to wait for the ground to settle before putting it back.
I want to make sure it looks nice when the stone is back. I kinda wish I'd got something from Malta to put on the grave. They both always wanted to go home

I think my wife broke the dogs. Took them out tracking training and when they got back they were out of control for about 1 hr. Run here, jump there, barkbarkbarkbarkbark! Then both instantly down for the count, the sleep of the dead. No supper, been going on for 2 hours.

Just back from the office Christmas party. Made out with two the the about 20 bottles of wine (the others were whites or reds my coworker was taking) and scored some sweet cutting boards in the white elephant exchange. Good year.
