Thanks everyone for the well wishes. 
Yeah, everything I did with that avocado. I know better. Especially after so many years working with food. The knife definitely wasn't the right tool for the job. I know a few tricks, but appreciate everyone's take on pitting an avocado.
So, I'm stitched up with a dressing and splint. I went to work, got about 45 minutes in when the big boss heard about me. Called me into the office, asks me what's up with my finger. I tell her. I'm informed I can't work with stitches. Not even with a glove. I need to be able to completely and thoroughly wash my hands. Policy. I get it, but this sucks because I'm supposed to get then removed in 10 days.

Writing to comment later, I want to discuss. So, yeah, I have thought this too. I was raised with my mom till I was 9, then moved in with her parents. I am a mishmash of my hippie, partying, mother, and middle class, clean, home bodies.
I have a Ying Yang tattoo, I feel like there is two haves to my whole.

I downloaded the first few episodes on Steel's recommendation but I haven't been able to listen yet.

When I try to sleep with my knee completely straight I have trouble because it starts to feel funny and when I try to sleep with my knee slightly bent I have trouble because I'm used to sleeping with my knee straight

I'm glad I don't have to wait week to week like the first listeners.
When I drove for a living I listened to a lot of podcasts. I miss them.
Wait, wait...don't tell me
Radiolab
And Snap Judgement were my favorites.
A Prairie Home Companion and Car Talk were guilty pleasures.
