Seriously. Seriously. How does a big ass chunk of porosity pass both a visual inspection and a fucking vacuum test? If I can see it without a flashlight, and you have a machine that tells you when it won't hold vacuum, how do two people miss a huge defect?!?!?!
Seriously. Cost us $2800, because we have to buy back the whole engine. You could have caught it before the engine head got cams, valves/springs, lash adjusters, etc on it. Now I have to buy those. You could have caught it before it got fucking mated to a block. Now I have to buy all the labor of the assemblers and non-reusable parts, plus the FUCKING ENGINE BLOCK.
Gaaaaaaah!

No. I work for a company called Nemak, which casts all the engine blocks, heads, cams, cranks, and bedplates for GM's engine lines here in Tennessee.
When we have to buy back a partially/fully assembled engine, we literally have to pay for the machining, assembly labor, and non-reusable parts in/on the engine (pistons, rods, manifolds, etc).
My job is to minimize that. Having two failed inspections on the same part is absolutely unacceptable.
I wish I could post a picture of this defect without getting fired. It is not a little spot, its literally shrinkage all up the side of the spark plug well boss.

It seems like we have a multinational AF get together to set up, then!
Will you be spending at least a Saturday around London?

Could have been worse - I've heard that if you install the whippet flanges just the tiniest bit off, the modality torque propounders set up an Ergenfluuken vibratory pattern that could necessitate re-aligning the ENTIRE induction spindle. So, you know, count your blessings.

A little perspective. Sometimes it's all you need. Although, to be clear, this is 'Murica. We don't use no dayum Ergenfluukens here.

Yeah, everyone in the Biz knows you don't really save money if you buy the cheap Pumpencrouplers.

You only get the purplefunken factory installed if you order one with the gaydar extra package.
