Yeah, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. But it turns out he was just being an asshole. If he had just apologized instead of claiming he was sincere, it would've went a lot better.

I'm actually sympathetic. I've certainly said things without malice which people have reacted badly to. When that happens and people reject my first attempts to say it wasn't meant that way, I can lose patience and think "to hell with you". I think that's what happened. I don't think fff is a homo-phobe or has a bias against transgenders. Could be wrong of course but that's my take. I think he was a fun guy with a lot to offer.
