Ivy, who's your service provider?
lol actually, that's the problem. It's my fault, you see. I didn't want to make a contract, so I paid full price for my Galaxy and just got a pre-paid plan. It's supposedly unlimited everything, but unlimited my ass (oh, wait). A local pre-paid service provider. My fault. I know.
I think phone contracts are ridiculous. I worked for Verizon Wireless for a year. The whole thing is a giant racket, if you ask me.

Ivy, can you change carriers? or is the phone locked to that carrier?
Around here, the most common way of buying new phones is to pay full price and almost every one has a pre-paid plan... it makes it easier to keep tabs on your spendings... and since teens are the greatest consumers, it's a good idea to keep tabs on them!
But... your internet is solely coming from your phone?

Yeah. I worked with Alltel back in the day. I did that for like two years. That had a lot to do with me not wanting contracts. It also doesn't help that I live in the border of USA and Mexico. With a contract I would be getting roaming charges all day long. With this pre-paid thing I only get service if there's signal, and when there isn't, I just don't get it (not even the charges). So, in that sense, it's convenient. I just hate losing calls and messages. When I finally get a message I have no idea when the person sent it and this makes people feel upset (I'm guessing).

Still feeling rather mixed. Got drunk (intentionally and unconsciously) for the whole New Year period, since I had no plans and even less desire to go anywhere or see anyone. It worked.
New Year's Day and my Blackberry packed up. I was 'checking emails' on it when the video froze, so I did a battery pull to reset it and now it won't come on at all. Not even a glimmer from the LED to indicate any signs of life. So at the moment I'm having to use the PC at my parents' house, where the internet lives.
Got a reply from a therapist I'd emailed; I feel more than ready now to open up face-to-face about 'that' day and the aftermath. In fact I'm bursting at the seams to do that - among other things, but that's neither news nor appropriate for this part of the forum. Anyway, she's said she doesn't feel she can help me, but gave me a url where she says I might find a more appropriate counsellor.
Still, seeing Shell in the morning, for the weekend. And given the way conversations have gone in the last week with her and a sort-of friend, this may turn out to be not quite a bad year after all...
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Got a zillion things to do and am frozen into not knowing which to start with. Ergo, time's a-wasting and I'm perseverating on here.

I can change it. I might do that.
What do you mean with the last question? Well, I'll try to answer it from all angles. Right now I mostly use the internet from my phone, but I do have a desktop at home now (my laptop was stolen). I lose signal a lot, and the internet service sucks, but I use Wi-Fi whenever possible.

You lose internet service at home, on your desktop... a wired connection to your home modem/router which then gives you wifi... how do you lose connection?

I live at the border. I cross the border several times a day. Could that have to do with it? lol
