What's everyone up to right now?

Spent most of the 4th working. 
Got goaded into singing Fly Me to the Moon by an Elvis impersonator.

You know, the usual stuff.

Spent the 4th with some friends, who promptly murdered my collard greens.

It's fun to watch kids get excited about fireworks; my friend's little stepson was off his shit about a sparkler.

Spent the day in bed watching Orange is the New Black and the Minions.

This is the first year Miss P actually liked them. She was hysterical. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to upload a video. I think we all had more fun watching her see fireworks than watching the actual fireworks.

my internet has stayed on for several hours now.

Additionally, some of the things I did to my laptop to fix it (which my laptop didn't need nor appreciate) have kinda fixed themselves.

Meanwhile, Emergency Auxiliary Backup Cat #2 continues to snooze. Don't recall if I mentioned this, but despite his sleepy nature, he's fine. As he continues to 'calm down' (neighbor stopped by the other day and even noted how much more relaxed he is around him now) he's much more comfortable sleeping around the humans these days. I've also discouraged him from hiding when he feels like napping, so he's doing most all his naps out in the living room now. On the few occasions I've bothered to keep track, he is 'active' (being a relative term) 3 or 4 hours a day when he's on liberty. Assuming a similar ratio when he's in his accommodations upstairs,he's in the 'normal' range for how much he sleeps. As for much else being 'normal' about this cat, well, we've never had a normal cat here, and he's not inclined to break any new ground there.

And, we've also discovered in addition to Lays Barbecue potato chips, he will also eat Honey Mustard Pringles. He isn't getting very much of treats in this category, but the delicate little crunchy noises he makes while eating chips are getting to be pretty funny. (he makes so few noises, having a new one is 'special')

Watching a movie. Fireworks got rained out, but being as none of the kids were here this weekend, we did nothing. I wanted to do something - anything because I spend my days at home and with a four day weekend off from school, would have liked to have some fun. The other half managed to sleep most of the time away and the rest of it on the computer.

I seriously can't wait to graduate, get a job and find myself a better life. I'm tired of living with someone who doesn't want even so much as a glimmer of a social life.
