This morning, a priest that my wife knows called me on the phone... out of the blue! Completely unexpected! I had no idea he had my number!
He said he wanted to discuss "my doubts about the existence of god"... and also to challenge himself with any questions I may have on the subject.
I was thinking "huh?! doubts? LOL"
But, being the nice guy I am, I agreed to meeting the guy for that discussion... tomorrow at 6pm. hehe.... poor fella... doesn't know what he's getting himself into.

Are you sure about that? It's my experience that these "discussions" quickly turn into interminable preach sessions where you can feel the guy studiously allowing your responses to pass over and around him without ever entering his mind. You may leave more frustrated than when you entered, and worse, become a story about "an atheist testing my faith!" to the preacher at his next congregation.

I think it is intriguing. Just don't let him get away with preaching and demand that he react to your points.

We all think it's intriguing. Some of just already know what that situation actually turns out to be like, more often than not, as opposed to what you had in mind in advance.

The priest will likely never openly concede anything. But enough priests have turned atheist, and the encounter could push him in that direction in the long run.

No, this will not push him towards atheism in any way.
I forgot to mention, this is an opus dei priest.
I'm fully aware that anything I say will sail over his head.
Just like anything he says will have zero impact on me.

It's a nice opportunity to spend the late afternoon in a cooler place than my home, and to meet a new person... If my off-topic skills work decently, we'll be talking about travelling or the weather or my job for the most part... :p
