It's all war. We're at a point where we have to play a guitar more fluently than the next bitch, because "just" having 3 degrees and 10 years' work experience by the time you're 19 isn't enough to distinguish you.

That reminds me of a reply to a job ad that was in circulation some time ago... sadly, it's in portuguese, but... the important bits can be copied here:
Job Requirements:
® Adobe Photoshop,
® InDesign,
® Illustrator (FreeHand e Corel Draw) Flash,
® Dreamweaver,
® Premiere,
® AfterEffects,
® SoundBooth,
® SoundForge,
® AutoCad,
® 3D StudioMax
® HTML (basic),
® ActionScript 2.0 (basic),
® CSS,
® XML.
The guy says he knows all of those, but, "let's be honest here... Any freshman is expert at all those 13 programs and 4 programming languages. I have a completed college degree. I have something else to offer:
I know of Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, Sketch Up e Paint at a guru level.
I have mega-advanced experience of C+, C, C++, C+ or -, Java, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, Ruby on Skates, MySQL, YourSQL, Everyone'sSQL, Action Script 3.0, Drama Script 3.0, Comedy Strip 3.0 and Strip Tease 2.5, Ajax, Vanish Oxi Action, Oracle, Sonasol, XHTML, Batman and VisualBasic.
I know all of the Office suite, just like Microsoft WC.
Totally dominate Flex to the level of a Bill Gates and I can work with Final Cut Pro better than Steven Spielberg.
I still have broad knowledge about 4 programs that are still under development by great brands and 3 other software wutes that haven't yet ben invented.
I speak 17 languages, 5 of which are dead and 6 dialects by yet-undiscovered indigenous peoples.

Allegedly, it was actually sent as a reply to the job ad.
But, you know.... this is the internet.
