What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Settling into bed. I have had a recurring ingrown big toenail for years that finally exceed both my ability to repair and my pain tolerance - enough that I had the doc yank it out today and treat it so it wouldn't grown back.

It was....an experience. It wasn't really painful - inasmuch as getting wisdom teeth pulled isn't painful. I didn't watch. I couldn't watch. The worst part of it was getting the numbing injections.

Yikes! I would have to watch. I have a morbid curiosity when it comes to medical procedures.

I watched every time they did the nerve block on my leg for my knee surgeries. Big ass needle coming in on the ultrasound and puncturing the nerve... awesome. I also watched the bone graft surgery they did on my knee. And the time they put a contrasting agent in my shoulder socket to do an MRI. That needle was like 20" long. I can't not look at it!

Hope it feels better.

I always watch because I never like it when pain takes me by surprise. But then as soon as the pain starts, I look away.

Ugh,I had to have a nerve conduction test done on my legs. That involves shoving electrical probes - at the end of needles - deep enough to reach the nerves in my hip down to my toes. One of those needles goes in 105mm and it's a big thick bastard. The one they had to drive in through a calloused part of my foot was the worst. I swear the guy was Dr. Mengele.

The worst part is the test was fucking inconclusive.

I have really bad dislike of needles. I'm not afraid of them so much as they repulse me.
