What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Watching a CW affiliate from LA about a presumed (but false) shooting at LAX.

That'll be my next job... to get fit... I don't mind going above the weight if it's muscle. There was a time when I had pretty good abs, from doing situps six days a week, and it would be nice to have them again Wink

Easier abs: Take broom or straight stick and lay it across you shoulders, hanging your arms over the top. Then "clamshell" kick like you are trying to touch your knee to you shoulder, bend at the abdomen, isolate the contraction. You'll chisel those abs fast without ever having to hit the floor. Thumb up

Those 2.5 hours are more than enough to eat those 8500! Don't give up now, you can do it!!!

No but srsly, congrats, I wasn't as consistent this week with the vacation etc.

Had four beers and half a club sandwich with a side salad, and that was literally all I could eat.

Three months ago it would have been a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and I'd be eyeing Kitty's plate as well. Tongue

That's a good method, but I'm a big believer in getting a two-fer whenever possible. If you have a chin-up bar, Emjay, try hanging leg raises. They will blast your abs and help you to develop a monster grip.

Looking up Cincinnati chili and wondering whether I can do it passably in a crockpot.

Thanks for the advice Smile I'll take any I can get thanks to two health conditions that work in concert to make my life as miserable as possible and severely limit my options for exercise Sad The first is RSI which is triggered by prolonged muscle tension (along with any repetitive movements performed in that state)... eg sitting still for long periods of time or any isometric exercise... and once it's triggered it causes referred pain all over my body and can take weeks to stop... I won't even say heal cos it's referred pain... it's not real real which makes it worse cos it can't be reliably isolated and it doesn't respond to painkillers. And those weeks of recovery have to be on very minimal activity, because the threshold for setting it off/maintaining it reduces sharply. And it even effects my favourite exercise, which is situps, because my legs get tense the more reps I do, because of trying to keep them down. I just wish there was some way of keeping my legs down which meant I could just relax them completely... the equivalent of someone sitting on them in a gym... because as it stands all the only thing I can think of is to tuck my feet under the castored feet of my (pretty heavy) desk chair... it works to some extent but it's not a snug fit so my legs instinctively resist against it. And the other one is an ongoing groinal condition that makes things very tender and painful down there, and means I can't use my bike any more or my exercise bike Sad So I'm 35 and it feels like I can't do anything any more exercise-wise, not even things I used to take for granted, so I'm just wasting away with not much I can do about it except contemplate my fate... another example of that ever-reducing-scope I was talking about in that other thread... and another example of Karma or reap-what-you-sow... the RSI is the consequence of years of bad posture, so no-one to blame but myself. And the other condition is (probably/suspected to be) the result of or related to smoking... which I continue to do... so more bad Karma... and again no-one to blame but myself. So tbh at the rate I'm going, with doors closing in every direction, I'll be surprised if I live past forty... but I have kind of accepted that fate and it's just about coming to terms with it now.
