With a camera lens.  The camera is a Nikon D810 DSLR, which actually uses a CMOS sensor. As soon as the weather clears I will try andromeda. I plan to stack 10 exposures to capture the full dynamic range. Andromeda's central region is so much brighter than the spiral arms that it is difficult to avoid either losing the spiral arms all together or completely washing out the central region.
