Jebus, I didn't know it was that bad! I can barely imagine what you must have gone through. Good luck and all the best for the next days and weeks, tell her Hi from me too if you have the time.
To be honest, I never want to know the survival odds on these things. I never ask. It's our third time in that barrel and I've never asked. Major gastrointestinal surgery isn't good on the best of days, but when it's being done on a severely immunocompromised person, who's already weak and taking a bunch of medications that compromise surgical interventions even more... I don't know, it scares the shit out of me, every time. This time more than most, since it's a new procedure. But we know this surgeon, and he's never let us down before. This time, while he was in there, he just straight up corrected an issue that the other docs had taken the better part of a year to figure out. Everything's looking good, there.
I don't want to say anything concretely, though. Every time I do the opposite ends up happening like a week later.

GI issues are so very scary. My oldest had a hole in her upper tract repaired at 11 hours old (duodenal atresia). When she was nine, she underwent a pyloroplasty with a Nissen wrap to her esophagus. She now has Celiac disease. She's gotta be real careful about what she eats.

Looking for a real needle in a haystack. It's a defunct blog about a young woman from Portland, OR, who taught in central Japan.
Somethingzilla, but Google doesn't like partial names.

Listening to this scanner. There's some guy who's got police departments from two different states involved in a suicide thing. Evidently he's trying to commit suicide by cop. He's got four departments from PA alone involved. They're trying to get him to pull off to the side of the road now. I hope they can get him pulled over and get him the help he needs.
Apparently they just said he's going well over 100mph on Rte 30. They are saying he's distraught and seems to be on the phone with an officer.

Part of it is in for moderation. Geez, this'll be tricky.
My answer to "If you could meet any historical figure, alive or dead, who would it be", was the following:
So, many! Milo Yiannopoulos, Paul Teutul Sr., J.D. Salinger, Chuck C. Johnson, Jerry Garcia, Madison Kocian, Katie Ledecky, "Adorable Ayla", Antonin Scalia. Man, big dinner party. What shall we eat? Definitely Ree Drummond and Alton Brown doing the cooking!
